Academic Courses

We design, or advise on the design of academic courses and exhibitions,to ensure that they are inclusive and accessible. JBC-London has carried out many such projects for universities, colleges and other organisations.

These courses began at a time when it was seen to be important to invite people with special requirements into academic centres. Then we developed specialist courses specific to people with different needs and different interests. With the implementation of the DDA, our opportunities have now widened to assisting in the design of courses, programmes and special events which are as inclusive as possible. This area is one that we hope to develop further in the coming years.

Holding a Conference or Seminar?

Let JBC-London arrange it!

We can and do arrange Conferences, Seminars, Functions and Exhibitions, which are as accessible as possible, including providing trained stewards.

In the past, these have included several for the RNIB and OPSIS. More recently, we have worked with organisations to create platforms for integrated discussions and exhibitions. We will endeavour to work with the client to design what is required, locate suitable venues and take over all the marketing and administration. With the sponsorship of ACE, (Arts Council England), we undertook the organisation and stewardship of three 1-day seminars on web accessibility. These were over-subscribed and a further two days had to be arranged.

We have assisted Wedgwood memorial College, Royal Armouries Museum, The Czech Centre, Imperial War Museum Education Dept. and "Sight of Emotion." and more,
