JBC-London is now 20 years old!

June Bretherton, (a teacher by profession), started the Consultancy in 1988, having become totally blind four years previously. In 1998, David Whitehead joined June as a designer. His background is in engineering. He is now a managing partner in the organisation. Since his arrival, JBC has created installations around the themes of the use of the senses, some award winning, that can be installed as a stand-alone exhibition or to complement other events.

Joan Roche, who has a nursing background, has worked with June since 1995 in the training, access and conference work.

Ennis Killip and Tony Scott who joined JBC in 2005 are experts in Website design and accessibility and add to JBC's ability to provide assistance and advice on virtual access issues. "Accessibility is not just about wide doors, ramps and hand-rails. It is really about inclusiveness and making sure that anyone who wants to "access" your premises or services, will feel included," said Ennis.

Over the years JBC has assisted hundreds of organisations, from large teaching hospitals to tiny museums, with access and inclusion in mind.
